Business representatives have proposed a 10% increase in the opening of the National Wage Committee meetings at the Ministry of Labor. Labor sector representatives are asking for a 30% wage increase. President Luis Abinader speaking during the weekly Monday press conference on 24 February 2025 said he stands by the 20% proposed minimum wage hike that he says would be sufficient to produce a real wage difference above inflation.
The National Wage Committee is meeting on Tuesday, 25 February 2025 at the Ministry of Labor.
