The draw for the competitors is that the event will be nestled between the Caribbean Sea and cliffs, where the athletes will experience the thrills that come with a well-rounded course and a remarkable finish line on Punta Cana-perfect Juanillo Beach.
The race starts with a loop swim in the Caribbean (1.9 km), and then a quick change to start the cycling portion of the competition. Bikers will engage in a single-loop 56-mile (90 km) course with plenty of space and no inclines. 20% of the bike course’s route will be inside Cap Cana; the remaining 80% will be on the two-lane national highway.
The final running course is one of 21 km across a flat, one-loop circuit that winds through the landscape of Cap Cana. The competition’s turning point will be at the Cap Cana Marina, where athletes will race past yachts and boats while enjoying the breeze before the last stretch of the race.
Cap Cana is located on the south side of the Punta Cana resorts and beach strip and is home to residences and resorts, plus the Punta Espada golf course by Jack Nicklaus.
