Aleksandar Kovacevic from New York City won the 2025 Cap Cana Cup, a ATP Challenger 175. He defeated Damir Dzumhur 6-2, 6-3 in just 71 minutes to win his second trophy of the year and become the first American to win a Challenger Tour 175 title. This is Kovacevic’s biggest career title.
Kovacevic dropped just six points behind his first serve and saved five of the six break points he faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats.
He competed at the state-of-the-art tennis courts at Cap Cana, the best tennis venue in the country.
The Dominican Republic previously held Davis Cup tournaments at the 2003 Pan American Games facilities at the Mirador del Este and the La Bocha Tennis Club facilities in the city of Santo Domingo. Rafael Nadal has announced the start of construction of a Rafael Tennis Center and prime tennis facilities at his hotel, Zel Punta Cana, part of the Melia hotel group.
