The capital city welcomes the best of carnival from all around the Dominican Republic for the mega carnival scheduled for the Malecon parade in Santo Domingo on Sunday, 23 March 2025. The Gran Desfile Nacional de Carnaval 2025 will start at around 3pm and the parade will continue into the first hours of the evening, to be followed by live entertainment.
The parade closes the almost two-month carnival season in the Dominican Republic and is organized by the Ministry of Culture. RD$5 million in prizes will be delivered to the best parading groups from all around the country.
