The World According to Mafalda at the Palace of Fine Arts

The beloved comic strip Mafalda is at the National Gallery of the Palace de Bellas Artes with an exhibition that invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world created by Argentine cartoonist and graphic humorist, Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón, known as Quino, Diario Libre reports. The exhibition is open until 31 March 2025.

“The World According to Mafalda” takes people to the decade of the ’60s and early ’70s by opening the doors to the apartment of Mafalda’s neighbors, as well as corridors with the biographies of the characters, vignettes and objects with the classic remarks by Mafalda, and Quino’s biography presented by the graphic humorist, Miguel Rep.

Visitors can also enjoy animated shorts of this character, an exhibition of games from the time, an area where they can identify the characters through their objects and characteristic expressions, as well as create their own comic strip.

The exhibition was produced by Almas Producciones and Covi Entertainment with the collaboration of the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina. The producers say this is an opportunity not only to reconnect with the famous cartoons, but to rescue the power everyone has within to ask, inquire, intervene and, above all, to act independently of our place in life.
