
The Dominican Republic’s largest international food, tobacco, and beverage fair, Agroalimentaria 2025, will be held from 28 to 31 May 2025 at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel & Casino in Santo Domingo.
Organized by the Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center (ProDominicana) and the Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD), the event is a key meeting point for professionals and consumers in the food, tobacco, and beverage sectors.
Over 200 exhibitors will showcase a diverse array of products, including fresh produce, processed foods, cigars, and beverages.
In announcing the event, Pro Dominicana director Biviana Riveiro highlighted the agricultural sector’s significant contribution to the Dominican Republic’s economy, with over US$3,275.5 million in exports in 2024, representing a 17.7% year-over-year growth.
Dominican agricultural products reach 150 markets worldwide, supported by over 1,217 exporters. Key exports include tobacco (US$1,340.4 million), cocoa beans (US$464.3 million), and edible fruits (US$342.3 million).
JAD executive president Osmar C. Benítez emphasized the fair’s role in showcasing the Dominican Republic’s export potential in developed consumer markets. The JAD aims to increase agricultural exports to US$5 billion within five years, focusing on targeted product promotion.
Exhibits will include tropical fruits, greenhouse and oriental vegetables, spices, processed foods, coffee, cocoa, cigars, beer, and rum.
The event will facilitate networking and collaboration among industry stakeholders.
Activities will include technical seminars, business roundtables with over 145 international buyers from 31 markets, a tobacco and rum lounge, a gastronomic festival featuring renowned chefs, conferences, and workshops.
Of note, Cuba has the largest amount of registered business, at 44 companies. Followed by Aruba with 20, and the United States with 17.
The Agroalimentaria 2025 Organizing Committee includes support from various government ministries and agencies, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Foreign Relations, and the Customs Agency (DGA), as well as many other organizations.
This event is poised to significantly boost the Dominican Republic’s agricultural sector and promote its products on the global stage.
