
The minimum wage increases approved in February 2025 go into effect this Tuesday, 1 April 2025.
The National Wage Committee (CNS) had approved a 20% increase to minimum wages for the non-sectorized private employees. The increment is being applied in two stages: 12% in April and 8% in February 2026.
Approximately two million workers are benefiting from this wage boost.
Breakdown of 2025 increment by company size:
• Large enterprises: A 20% increase would raise the minimum wage from RD$24,990 to RD$29,988 monthly.
• Medium-sized enterprises: Employees would see their minimum wage rise from RD$22,908 to RD$27,489.6 monthly.
• Small enterprises: The minimum wage would increase from RD$15,351 to RD$16,886 monthly.
• Micro enterprises: A 20% increment would lift the minimum wage from RD$14,161 to RD$16,993 monthly.
Additional adjustments:
• Private security guards: Salaries increase from RD$20,527.50 to RD$26,633 monthly with the 20% hike.
• Agricultural workers: Daily wages rise to RD$714 for a 10-hour workday, up from the current RD$595 per day.
