New death toll of JetSet Club tragedy: 231

The Joint Task Force reported that the number of people who died in the JetSet Club roof collapse that occurred early on 8 April 2025 at the JetSet nightclub has risen to 231. 221 died in the disaster area and 10 in hospitals. The task force highlighted the efforts of the institutions involved in the rescue operation and urged caution during the Easter holiday. The Abinader administration has picked up the tab so that the best of public health medical attention can be available for the victims.

Interior & Police Minister Faride Raful provided the update during a press conference following the 87th meeting to monitor the citizen security plan, chaired by Vice President Raquel Peña, with the presence of New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Minister Raful expressed gratitude to the rescuers and commended the healthcare personnel for their swift response to the families of the deceased and injured, with many lives saved and more recovering.
