President Luis Abinader and First Lady Raquel Arbaje will travel to Rome this Friday, 25 April 2025 to attend the funeral mass of His Holiness Pope Francisco. The mass is scheduled for Saturday, 26 April at 10:00am local time in St. Peter’s Square.
The presidential couple is scheduled to return on Sunday.
The Vatican has confirmed that official delegations sent by governments can participate in the ceremony, with a limit of five members per delegation if led by a head of state or government.
Among the presidents from the Americas confirming they will attend the funeral are Donald Trump for the United States, Javier Milei of Argentina and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil.
