The Dominican Republic is in the top ten of women’s volleyball around the world. To keep its elite status, for years the best emerging players receive the opportunity to undergo the intense training available to the best in Japan. The Proyecto de Seleccion director, Milagros Cabral announced the departure of two emerging talents — Ryni Merab Mondesi Arias and Cristal Mercedes Núnez. The two were chosen by the coaches of Japanese volleyball schools that visited here.
The two potential volleyball stars traveled to Japan to begin their training in what is regarded as the most demanding training program in the world for women volleyball players.
Milagros Cabral, herself a past captain of the Reinas del Caribe women’s volleyball team, said: “These two young girls are leaving focused on this change for the better of their lives.”
