Dominican ambassador to Mexico, Juan Bolivar Diaz Santana presented credence letters to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo on 20 May 2025. Diaz Santana took advantage of the occasion to invite the Mexican President to attend the Summit of the Americas scheduled to take place in Punta Cana in December 2025. The DR is hosting the event that is organized with the backing of the United States Secretary of State.
Prior to his career as a diplomat during the Abinader administration, Diaz Santana was active as a professional journalist.
During the ceremony at the Mexican Presidential Palace, the new ambassador explained his close ties in Mexico where he studied and began his journalism career.
