Arajet to fly Punta Cana to Chicago

Continuing with its announcements of non-stop flights to the United States, the Dominican Republic-based airline Arajet announced on Tuesday, 20 May 2025 the launch of its newest US route, Punta Cana International Airport to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. The flights are set to begin on 15 November 2025 and will operate three times a week.

Tickets are for sale. Travelers can now purchase tickets for the Punta Cana-O’Hare route, with fares starting at US$117 one-way.

Chicago marks Arajet’s fifth US destination from the Dominican Republic, joining Boston, Miami, New York, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The airline’s expansion into the US market follows the open skies bilateral agreement between the Dominican Republic and the United States, which took effect in December 2024, easing flight restrictions between the two nations.

Arajet is based in Santo Domingo with operations out of the Punta Cana International and Las Americas International airports and is financially backed by Bain Capital and Griffin Global Asset Management.

“Our continuous growth allows for greater connectivity for both tourists and the Dominican diaspora, while boosting tourism and economic opportunities throughout the region,” stated Víctor Pacheco, CEO of Arajet.

The advantage of Arajet flights is the extra connectivity of the Santo Domingo and Punta Cana International Airports that enable people to continue on to hundreds of destinations around the world.

Likewise, from Punta Cana and Santo Domingo airports, travelers have access to Arajet connecting flights to other destinations across the Caribbean and Latin America, the airline highlights in its promotions.

Arajet is continually adding new destinations.
