Effective Monday, 2 June 2025, the Migration Agency (DGM) is no longer accepting cash payments for migration services and procedures for both national and foreign citizens.
Navy Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, who is the director of Migration, highlighted that this policy aligns with their commitment to responsible, efficient, and transparent public administration.
In a statement, the institution clarified that all payments must be made via credit or debit cards, bank deposits, or through their official digital platform. This measure is part of the quality objectives outlined in the Institutional Strategic Plan and the strengthening of administrative controls within its management system.
To assist individuals without bank cards, the DGM now has a consultation module for people to calculate the service fees and administrative charges needed for the individuals then to pay for the services needed depositing cash at any branch of the Banco de Reservas.
The DGM emphasized that this policy applies to all payments for procedures and services managed by the institution, including offices and airports.
