Santo Domingo Arena to open in August on Jacobo Majluta Avenue

A new state-of-the-art venue designed for concerts and major events, the Santo Domingo Arena, will open its doors in August 2025 on Jacobo Majluta Avenue, directly across from the Jardín Memorial cemetery grounds in northern Santo Domingo, Noticias SIN reports.

Spanning over 50,000 square meters, the arena will seat approximately 12,000 people, positioning itself as one of the Dominican Republic’s premier entertainment venues.

Entertainment entrepreneur Saymon Díaz, who is behind the project, announced that the first confirmed event will be a concert by Argentine band Erreway on October 17th. Seven additional events have already been scheduled for the following months.

Diaz is most likely the leading show promoter in the country.

Over the years, Diaz has been a frequent renter of the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium, Virgilio Travieso Sports Palace, and Volleyball Pavilion at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center. With the exception of the Olympic Stadium, all these venues have less capacity than the 12,000 seats of the soon-to-open Santo Domingo Arena. The sports venues are also now under renovation for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
