The largest get-together of civilian aircraft fans happens each year in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA. Known formally as the EAA AirVenture 2025, the show draws private flyers from around the world. People come to see unique and innovative aircraft and learn about where to travel to. This year, officials say more than 691,000 visitors from 80 different countries participated in the 21-27 July 2025 celebration of aviation.
The Dominican Airport Department and the Ministry of Tourism set up their booth at the show to promote arrivals to Dominican airports.
The participation seeks to promote fly-ins by private airplanes, as they are known, recognized as an important potential contributor to high-value tourism. Back in 2023, President Luis Abinader acknowledged private aviation as important to Dominican tourism when he signed Decree 259-23 that covers the arrival and departure of small, private aircraft. The authorities at the Ministry of Tourism consider that attracting high-end aviation tourism is highly profitable for the DR tourism market.
The Dominican Republic has eight international airports and 23 domestic airports.
EAA Air Venture 2026 is scheduled for 20 to 26 July 2026.
