Miss Barahona Jennifer Ventura is the new Miss Dominican Republic. She was crowned by Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjaer of Denmark in the televised show aired on Sunday, 10 August 2025 on Channel 9 from the National Theater.
Ventura will now represent the Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe pageant to take place in Thailand on 21 November 2025. The Dominican Republic will have two contestants in that pageant, because new rules allowed for the election of the Miss Universe Latina as a participant. Miss Universe Latina reality show was won by Miss Dominican Republic (La Vega province), Yamilex Hernandez.
In the Miss Dominican Republic contest on Sunday, 10 August, Miss Punta Cana, Jearmanda Ramos was chosen the first runner up and Miss Peravia, Criselys García the third runner up.
The Dominican Republic has won only one Miss Universe contest, that of 2003 held in Panama, when Amelia Vega was chosen the winner when she was 18 years old.
Upon her arrival to the DR, Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjaer of Denmark, had showed her proficiency at dancing the merengue.
