After months of rumors, SD Concerts has announced the cancellation of the performance of Shakira in Santo Domingo. The concert had been scheduled for 26 September 2025 in the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium. The announcement simply said, “due to circumstances beyond our control.”
Ticket holders are being reimbursed for their purchases.
This year, 2025 has not been kind to concert promoters, with concerts by Sting, the Mexican duo Jesse & Joy, Camila, Greeicy, and the Live Land Music Festival all cancelled for different reasons. At least one other concert, that of Mexican singer Christian Nodal, had to be postponed due to unfavorable conditions of the grounds of the Estadio Quisqueya baseball stadium. No date has been announced for this concert. One show, that of Anuel AA, had to be moved ahead four days after the stage collapsed after heavy rains.
On the positive side, Rod Stewart will be back in Santo Domingo, bringing his “One Last Time” tour to the brand new 12,000-capacity Santo Domingo Arena on 14 October 2025. His last concert was at the 5,000-seat Altos de Chavon amphitheater in La Romana in February 2023.
