Arajet continues to set records in passengers

Arajet announced it achieved a new record in passengers transported in July 2025. According to data from the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Arajet transported 128,178 passengers, not including an additional 15,000+ transit passengers. This surge in traffic pushed the airline past the 140,000-passenger mark for the first time in a single month.

The remarkable performance landed Arajet in the third spot for passenger traffic in the Dominican Republic for July. It followed only behind industry giants JetBlue (463,000) and American Airlines (216,000). For the first time, Arajet surpassed major US carriers Delta (126,000), United (123,000), and Copa (112,000).

The airline’s success also highlights its dominance within the local market. Arajet accounted for 80% of all passengers flown by Dominican airlines, with Sky High at 15% and other smaller carriers like Air Century, Red Air, and Panorama Jets making up the remaining 5%.

Arajet CEO and founder Víctor Pacheco expressed his excitement about the results. “We are in our best moment,” he said, “and this fills us with enthusiasm to continue building the new hub of the continent in the Dominican Republic.”

Pacheco noted that the growth wasn’t limited to passenger numbers alone; it also extended to sales, fleet expansion, and job creation, strengthening Arajet’s contribution to the nation’s

July was also a record month for sales, driven by summer promotions and marketing campaigns in the US aimed at the Dominican diaspora.

Arajet currently serves 28 destinations across 16 countries. The airline has also announced opening of new routes to Chicago, Orlando, and Boston in the United States, as well as Córdoba, Argentina, in the coming months.

Founded in 2022, Arajet was quickly established itself as the flagship airline of the Dominican Republic. It was recognized as the “Best New Airline in the World” at the 2023 World Aviation Summit.

The airline operates a modern fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from its hubs at Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana International Airport, offering safe and affordable travel across North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean.
