Promoting the DR in Chicago

Arajet is promoting travel to the Dominican Republic to travelers in the Chicago area. The airline is launching a new low cost direct flight starting 15 November 2025.

The Arajet flights will start with three weekly frequencies. Flights will depart from Punta Cana on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and from Chicago’s O’Hare International (ORD) on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Mondays. This new route will provide over 2,200 seats per week, making Chicago a strategic hub for Dominican tourism and business.

According to the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, the United States is the country’s top source of tourists, with more than 138,000 visitors from the Chicago area alone. The new direct route aims to build on this strong foundation.

“In Arajet, we remain committed to offering new connection opportunities between the Dominican Republic and the United States with competitive fares that make it easier for more people to enjoy our destinations,” Pacheco said. “Chicago is a key city for both tourism and business travel, and this new route will strengthen the ties between both nations.”

In addition to the direct service, passengers flying this route will also have the option to connect to Arajet’s broader network of destinations across the region.

Minister of Tourism David Collado was in Chicago together with Victor Pacheco, Arajet’s CEO and founder to motivate travel agents and tour operators to tell their travelers about the attractions in the Dominican Republic. The flight takes 4 hours and 40 minutes.

Arajet is promoting its competitive pricing on the route.

The Chicago O’Hare International (ORD) to Punta Cana International (PUJ) route is also served by American Airlines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines and Delta (Midway International Airport).
