Junior Caminero makes history with 40 homers, 100 RBIs at 22 years

Junior Caminero / El Dia

Tampa Rays’ Junior Caminero has become only the second player in franchise history to reach the milestone and the first Dominican to hit 40 home runs this season, El Dia reports.

The Dominican slugger hit his 40th home run Tuesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field, becoming just the second player in Tampa Bay Rays history to reach the mark. But his historic night wasn’t over. A two-run double in the seventh inning not only broke a tie against the Mariners but also gave him 100 runs batted in for the season.
