Gabrielle expected to bring rains, to cool off intense heat

The good news is that there are likely to be rainstorms to cool people off from the grueling summer heat.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle formed Wednesday morning (17 September 2025) and is moving over the central Atlantic Ocean. It is the seventh named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. So far, the storm does not represent a threat for the Dominican Republic.

Forecasters expect the weather system to remain over open waters for the next several days. It may become a low-grade hurricane as it intensifies over the weekend and its track is expected to carry it north of the Caribbean, but in the direction of Bermuda.
