The New York Mets fans have responded with record attendance to the Citi Field stadium. Yet, MLB’s best-paid player, Juan Soto has not been able to make the difference, and the team continues to struggle to move beyond the regular season.
The crowds, nevertheless, have been able to watch as Juan Soto ends the season on a roll. He delivered his home run No. 43 in the eighth inning of the game the New York Mets lost to the Chicago Cubs 10-3.
The Mets have five more games to play in the regular season, giving Soto still a chance at reaching the very difficult 40-40 mark. Soto has a record of 43 home runs and 36 stolen bases as of 24 September 2025.
