Sunny skies and short showers forecast

The Dominican Weather Institute (Indomet) reports on its 1 October 2025 forecast that residents and visitors can look forward to a period of generally good weather in the Dominican Republic, with forecasters anticipating abundant sunshine and only brief, isolated showers over the next few days.

The most recent forecast, valid from Wednesday, 1 October 2025, at 6am through Friday, 3 October 2025, at 6am, suggests stable conditions will dominate the mornings, though afternoons will bring temporary changes due to atmospheric instability.

Indomet says that Thursday will bring a beautiful morning with mostly clear and sunny skies. The action shifts to the afternoon, when the trough will once again combine with local effects to produce moderate to strong downpours, thunderstorms, and wind gusts. These are primarily expected over provinces in the Cibao region, the Central Mountain Range, and the border area, specifically Santiago, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, La Vega, San Juan, and Elías Piña. The rains will diminish as the night approaches.

Overall, residents should prepare for hot temperatures due to warm southeast winds. Authorities advise the public to stay hydrated, wear light-colored clothing, and avoid prolonged sun exposure without protection.

Indomet confirms that two current hurricanes in the Atlantic basin—Hurricane Humberto and Hurricane Imelda—pose no danger to the Dominican Republic. Both systems are moving away from the island:
• Hurricane Humberto is located 450 km north-northwest of Bermuda and is moving northeast.
• Hurricane Imelda is located 730 km west-southwest of Bermuda and is moving east-northeast.
