Altos de Chavón is gearing up for a grand celebration of its four-decade milestone, headlined by a tribute to Frank Sinatra that promises to be a spectacular throwback to the venue’s glamorous past.
The iconic amphitheater will host the event on Saturday, 11 October 2025 at 8pm, recreating the atmosphere of the legendary crooner’s inaugural performance there 40 years ago.
The centerpiece of the evening will be the Big Band Santo Domingo Pops, a 16-musician ensemble under the production and musical direction of Amaury Sánchez.
The show will feature a stellar lineup of guest artists, including Máximo Martínez, Héctor Aníbal, Laura Rivera, and José Guillermo Cortines. They are set to perform 22 classic Jazz Standards, a set list that includes some of Sinatra’s most beloved hits like “Strangers in the Night,” “My Way,” “New York, New York,” “Come Fly With Me,” “I Got You Under My Skin,” “Something Stupid,” and “My Kind Of Town.”
The Sinatra tribute is just one highlight in a series of anniversary events. Visitors can also enjoy the art exhibition “40 Vueltas al Sol” (“40 Turns Around the Sun”), which will run from October 21st to November 21st at the Art Gallery.
Adding a local flavor to the festivities, a concert featuring merengue legend Wilfrido Vargas is scheduled for November 5th. Vargas will be honored as the first Dominican merenguero to ever perform on the historic Altos de Chavón stage.
Excursions and day passes can be purchased to partake in the concerts.
