The game is regarded as the longest winner-take-all postseason game in baseball history.
Local media reports on how Dominicans were incidental in the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners making the cut for the American League Championship. The winner of that championship and the National League Championship will then compete to determine who gets the MLB World Series.
The ALCS championship opens in Toronto on Sunday, 12 October. The ALCS uses a best of seven format.
