The French-Dominican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFD) is gearing up to host the Semana de Francia 2025 (France Week) in Santo Domingo, the premier business forum aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations. This year the event will take place 12 to 15 November at the JW Marriott Hotel at the Blue Mall in the National District.
This year’s event will focus on the timely theme of “Blue Economy and Smart Cities.” Organizers anticipate drawing over 800 business leaders, investors, and high-level authorities for the four-day event.
The event brings together the governments of France and the Dominican Republic, along with more than 800 participants, including business leaders, investors, and institutional representatives.
The program features conferences, networking sessions, B2B meetings, a trade fair, and cultural experiences highlighting both French and Dominican influences — from gastronomy and music.
Since 2012, the event is organized by the Franco-Dominican Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the backing of the French Embassy. France Week has cemented its status as the main platform for business encounters between France and the Dominican Republic, with a particular emphasis on sustainability, technology, and future urban development.
The forum aims to deepen bilateral economic links and promote initiatives across several strategic sectors, including:
• Sustainable mobility
• Energy transition
• Technological innovation
• Waste management
• Green financing
The event will open on Wednesday, 12 November with an inaugural cocktail reception dedicated to recognizing key contributions to French-Dominican business collaboration.
The following day, Thursday, 13 November, will feature the official opening ceremony, set to be led by President Luis Abinader alongside CCIFD President Eury Vásquez and French official representatives. The day’s agenda will be centered on innovation and the energy transition.
Later that Thursday, Minister of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs, Victor (Ito) Bisonó, is scheduled to participate in a business luncheon. This will be followed by dedicated B2B business meetings, carefully designed to connect French and Dominican companies from various strategic sectors.
The biennial event, organized by the CCIFD that represents over 210 affiliated companies, will conclude on Saturday, 15 November, with a cultural day celebrating French art and elegance.
The public is invited to attend:
• A conference at the Alliance Française in the Centro de los Heroes.
• The “Paseo Chic à la Française” at Blue Mall, featuring gastronomic, artistic, and lifestyle experiences.
