Norwegian Cruise Line launches cruises from Jacksonville, stop in DR

With the launch of its JaxPort operations last week, Norwegian Cruise Line will be sailing the Norwegian Gem (refurbished 2022 with capacity for 2,344 pax) from November 2025 through April 2028, with itineraries to the Caribbean that includes the Dominican Republic.

Jaxport, a popular drive-to-cruise market, joins Miami and Port Canaveral as the third Florida port for NCL. Norwegian Gem is sailing 11- and 12-day Caribbean voyages exploring a mix of destinations including Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Antigua, and the US Virgin Islands, among others.

An 11-day Norwegian Gem Caribbean cruise starts at $749 per person.

A popular drive-to cruise market, Jacksonville, Fla. is within a one-day drive of more than 98 million consumers. The Jaxport Cruise Terminal offers convenient on-site parking and is located near Jacksonville International Airport and major interstates, including I-10 and I-95.

Norwegian Cruise Line also offers trips on board the Norwegian Sky with stops in La Romana, marketed as Punta Cana, for its proximity to the major country entry port, as part of its Caribbean itineraries.
