President Luis Abinader announced he would travel to Belem, Brazil to be present for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30). He made the announcement responding to a journalist question during the La Semanal press conference. He said he would be participating with the block of Caribbean small island states that will again call for support as victims of climate change damages caused by developed nations.
COP30 will take place 10 to 21 November 2025. The President did not specify the dates of the trip.
