The Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resorts has officially opened its doors, marking a significant step in establishing Miches as a premier, sustainable, and differentiated tourism destination. Miches is a new destination located about a one-hour drive north of Punta Cana International Airport on the eastern beach strip.
The luxury resort was inaugurated on Wednesday, 29 October 2025 in a ceremony led by President Luis Abinader, who highlighted the resort’s future impact on Miches’ economic development and professional training. The resort will operate under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand.
“There is no better place to invest in all of Latin America than the Dominican Republic,” the President asserted, reaffirming the government’s strong commitment to supporting public-private partnerships for large-scale projects like Zemí.
The Zemí Miches resort is a Grupo Puntacana investment. This is the same business group that owns and operates the Punta Cana International Airport, the best-connected in the Caribbean.
Frank Elías Rainieri, CEO of Grupo Puntacana, was present for the inauguration of the development, a US$225 million investment.
In an emotional address, Rainieri spoke to the deeper meaning of the project. “Today, we are not just inaugurating a hotel; we are celebrating a dream come true, a legacy that transcends generations, and a promising future that will bring opportunities, development, jobs, and well-being for our people and for the entire country,” he stated.
