Tourism Boost: New Guides Launched for El Seibo and Miches

Milka Hernandez of Grupo Sarma has published the first ecotourism guides for the new destinations of El Seibo and Miches. Hernandez is the former domestic tourism director for the Ministry of Tourism. The guides are introducing domestic and international tourists to these emerging destinations.

Miches is a mostly beach destination, located an hour’s drive north of Punta Cana International Airport. El Seibo focuses on the historical, religious and cultural attractions of the province.

There is content on neighboring provinces such as Monte Plata, Hato Mayor and La Altagracia.

The publications are available in Spanish and English. The content is presented in a 120-page magazine format and separate digital editions.

The first launch event on 22 November 2025, held at the Faro de Hicayagua Club, was hosted by the El Seibo Province Development Council (Codepres), with executive director Davel Payano playing a special role. The gathering drew national and provincial authorities, including provincial governor Magalis Tabar de Goico, Ministry of Economy Vice Minister Yamel Valera, San Francisco-Vicentillo Mayor José Ortega, and the Ministry of Tourism’s director of Domestic Tourism, Martín Duquela. Business figures, community leaders, and both local and national press were also in attendance.

The afternoon saw a second ceremony at the Zemi Miches Resort for the launching of the Miches guide. This activity included an experiential tour of the property for the invited press from Santo Domingo, offering a firsthand look at the luxury resort’s facilities.

The Miches event was coordinated and led by Hairo Galindez, director of Marketing at Zemi Miches Resort, alongside Grupo Sarma executives.
