The Dominican Republic men’s senior national basketball team is set to clash once more with Mexico this Monday, 1 December 2025, aiming for a crucial second consecutive win in the First Qualifying Window for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Qatar.

The Dominicans secured their first victory against the Mexicans with a thrilling 92-85 on Friday, 28 November 2025 at the Marcelino González Gymnasium in Zacatecas, Mexico.

In the Saturday match, the Dominican offense was spearheaded by an impressive scoring effort from the backcourt tandem of Andrés Feliz (21 points) and Jean Montero (20 points), who combined for 41 points. They were strongly supported by Joel Soriano (16 points) and Chris Duarte (13 points).

Notably, this Dominican quartet currently plays in Spain’s top-tier ACB Professional League (Liga Endesa). Andrés Feliz plays with Real Madrid, Jean Montero and Joel Soriano with Valencia Basket and Chris Duarte with Unicaja Málaga.
