President Luis Abinader headed the ceremony that officially kicked off the delivery of some 2.6 million Christan bonuses to a corresponding number of citizens. This year’s program is called “Christmas Breeze.”
The gifts will be delivered in physical checks and electronic transfers.
President Abinader noted that the Social Cabinet will distribute 1.2 million bonuses “fairly and to those who need them the most.” The other 1.6 million bonuses will be distributed electronically, using the social program known as “Superate” as the basis for proof of need.
These accounts will receive RD$1,500 directly into their bank accounts.
