Dominican Republic to host 2026 PGA Tour Americas Finale

The Dominican Republic is solidifying its status as a premier global golf destination, as the PGA TOUR officially announced that the 2026 PGA TOUR Americas season will culminate on the island’s shores.

The season finale, the PGA Ocean’s 4 Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank, is scheduled to take place from 15 to 18 October 2026. The event will be hosted at the PGA Ocean’s 4 course, located within the Playa Nueva Romana residential community.

Playa Nueva Romana is located between the beach destinations of Juan Dolio and La Romana and is about a 40 minute drive from the capital city of Santo Domingo. This venue holds the distinction of being the only course in the country affiliated with the PGA of America.

The championship serves as the decisive milestone for the tour’s third season. It will feature the top 60 players from the season-long points standings, all vying for professional advancement.

Korn Ferry Tour Cards: The top 10 finishers on the final points list will earn coveted memberships for the 2027 Korn Ferry Tour season.

Pathways Grant: The top 10 players will also receive a US$15,000 Pathways Player Achievement Grant to support their career development.

A boost for Caribbean tourism
Government and tourism officials view the tournament as a major victory for the national economy. According to the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), golf tourism already attracts nearly 300,000 visitors annually, generating an estimated US$400 million in economic impact.

“Hosting the best players on the continent at PGA Ocean’s 4 demonstrates that we have the infrastructure and quality necessary to host the most demanding professional golf tournaments,” noted Carlos De Linares of the Piñero Group’s Real Estate and Golf division.

The 2026 schedule includes 15 tournaments across nine countries, but the spotlight will remain firmly on the Dominican Republic as the final stop where the “future stars” of the PGA TOUR are minted.

Playa Nueva Romana is roughly 40-45 km (about 35-40 minutes) west of La Romana city center and approximately 35-40 km (about 30-35 minutes) east of Juan Dolio.
