The Ministry of Interior and Police has announced that citizens can now schedule appointments for vehicle certification and verification using the new Plan Piloto online platform. The platform is designed to streamline a process that previously required in-person attendance. The digital transition aims to eliminate intermediaries, increase transparency, and allow vehicle owners to manage the procedure directly.
The announcement was made by Interior and Police Minister Faride Raful following a meeting of the Joint Task Force, presided over by Vice President Raquel Peña on Monday, 23 March 2026. Minister Raful emphasized that the new system guarantees a more efficient workflow and prevents tampering or unauthorized alterations to the scheduling process.
How the new platform works
General Juan Gabriel Gautreaux Martínez, Director of Technology for the National Police, outlined the specific steps for users:
• Access: Users must visit the official portal at servicios.pn.gob.do.
• Documentation: The platform allows for digital document uploads and online payment of fees.
• Scheduling: After completing the prerequisites, users can select a specific date and time for a physical inspection.
• Certification: Upon completion of the inspection, a digital certification will be issued.
Inspection site
Despite the digital scheduling, physical inspections remain mandatory. Once an appointment is secured, vehicles must be taken to the National Vehicle Retention Center (Cenarve), located on Avenida Circunvalación in Santo Domingo, for final verification.
