
National District Judge Danilo Amador Quevedo has ratified the coercive measures imposed on the four accused in the case of the bribes paid by the Brazilian company Embraer related to the purchase of eight Super Tucano airplanes.
Colonel Carlos Piccini Núñez will remain in preventive custody for another two months and Major General Pedro Rafael Peña Antonio and businessmen Daniel Aquino Hernández and Daniel Aquino Méndez, will continue not to be allowed to leave the country and also must make periodic appearances in court.
In addition, the judge agreed to the request made by the Public Prosecutors to extend the time period of the investigation for another two months, and it is hoped that the Specialized Prosecution Unit for the Persecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) will present the formal charges during the month of October.
