The Dominican Republic and Vietnam established diplomatic relations with the signing of a joint communication on Thursday, 7 July. Foreign Relations Deputy Minister of Vietnam, Vu Dung and Foreign Minister Carlos Morales signed the agreement during a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Morales explained that the establishing of relations with Vietnam means an increase in cultural, economic and trade ties with that country, and a consolidation of the DR in the Asian continent.
