The Police in Santiago on Monday, 26 June 2017 arrested two Army officers and accused these of stealing three goats from a farm that was under the custody of state prosecution in Laguna Verde, Montecristi. The army officials were in the company of two women.
The army officials were identified as 43-year old first lieutenant Gabriel Valdez Valdez who resides in Pedro Brand and 37-year old second lieutenant Carlos Méndez Medina who resides in Santo Domingo Este. The women are 22-year old Marieli Liberato Gómez and 38-year old Armari Gil Hernández. The group was riding a Toyota Hilux pick up without license plate.
The Police says the animals were sacrificed. The arrest took place after residents in Laguna Verde placed the claim to the Police.
