President Medina meets US congressmen

Nine congressmen from the United States, headed by Dominican-born representative Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), met on Saturday, 22 July 2017 with President Danilo Medina to discuss drug trafficking in the region and public security in the Dominican Republic, along with other important issues.

The group of senators, who will also go to Haiti, Colombia and Peru, belong to the Sub-Committee for External Affairs for the Western Hemisphere that manages political relations between the United States and other countries in the region.

Espaillat said that they would see how the Dominican Republic and the US could work together to stop drug and human trafficking.
