On Monday 24 July 2017, dozens of owners of businesses located on Arzobispo Meriño Street in the Colonial City protested against the ban on parking vehicles on that street being imposed by the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET).
The protesters stopped traffic and chanted at AMET who, they say, is making them lose clients, stating that the ban on parking has been in place for over a year and has hurt business.
