
A group of investors, tour operators and hotel management from Taiwan last week visited the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) to explore new investment opportunities in the Dominican Republic in advance of any increase flow of tourists from the Republic of Taiwan.
According to a press release, the 31-member Taiwan mission was headed by the Ambassador of Taiwan to the Dominican Republic, Valentino Ji-zen Tang, who was accompanied by Kevin Tsay, the president of the Taiwan Hotel & Motel Association of North America.
In a meeting with the officials from Mitur, Ambassador Tang said that the investors and other members of the mission had traveled to different areas of the country and were impressed by the beauty and hospitality of the Dominicans.
The ambassador also heaped diplomatic praise on Minister Francisco Javier Garcia and the Dominican government. Fausto Fernandez, the deputy minister of tourism, thanked the government of Taiwan for their support for Dominican tourism.
