A 22-year old Dominican, Elizabeth Díaz Jerez, was among the injured in the Barcelona terrorist attack on La Rambla on Thursday, 17 August 2017. The Ministry of Foreign Relations reported she suffered a slight injury to her arm during the event when a terrorist driving a van traveling at high speed zigzagged through the popular public space in Barcelona, targeting everyone in his path.
The Departamento de Protección Civil in Barcelona said that persons from 34 countries were among the over 100 injured in the terrorist attack. Some 13 persons were killed.
