The government of South Korea is interested in implementing important cooperation and investment projects in the DR and other Latin American countries, mainly in the field of information technology, where this nation has reached extraordinary advancement. Listin Diario reports that this was informed by the general director of the Latin American and Caribbean Department in South Korea, Hwang Eui-Seung, who called upon the governments of those nations to become interested in the projects. He said the resources are available and that the purpose of his country is to diversify investment of companies located in Central America, as well as to cooperate with non-traditional sectors. He stated there are South Korean companies established in Central America, and the Dominican Republic, and they want those governments to support the activities of the Korean companies. He complained that many Korean businessmen have to go through a lot of red tape that slows down their investments.
