Economy grows 4% from January to August 2017

Central Bank Governor Hector Valdez Albizu met on Monday, 30 October 2017 with a mission of International Monetary Fund officials to review the economy. Valdez Albizu says that GDP in the Dominican Republic is showing a 4% growth from January to August 2017, with accumulated inflation through September 2017 at 2.42%.

Valdez Albizu estimated that the growth target for the year of 4%+ or -1% would be met. He explained that data for September is not in yet because some institutions have not filed their reports due to delays caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria that were in September.
