In the Wednesday, 15 November 2017 work session, the Chamber of Deputies passed the 2018 National Budget as had been received from the Senate. The Senate earlier had passed the bill as received from the Executive Branch. The ruling PLD party is majority in Congress. Opposition legislators chose to leave the hall or to not vote to express their rejection that the normal procedures for the passing of the bill were not followed. The budget is for RD$816.5 billion. The bill now returns to the Presidency for its enactment.
