Members of the Army and the Specialized Corps of Border Security (Cesfront) have arrested a Dominican Norberto García de la Cruz and Haitian woman Jacqueline Marcadieu in the municipality of Montecristi, in separate incidents for transporting packs of marijuana. The arrests were made at the military checkpoint in Copey, Montecristi.
García had eleven packs of marijuana in his vehicle and will appear in court in Montecristi. Marcadieu was arrested at the border in Copey as she was entering the country with packs of marijuana in her possession.
