President attends the Ibero American Quality Awards award ceremony

On Monday, 4 December 2017, President Danilo Medina presided over the Ibero American Quality Awards ceremony for 2017, recognizing public, private and international companies, who have surpassed industry and government quality standards.

At the event held in the Presidential Palace, the Secretary General of the awards, economist Rebeca Grynspan said that the country was the first Latin American country to be chosen to host the awards.

An award was made to the Professor Juan Bosch Trauma Hospital in la Vega province, which obtained silver in the category of public business, due to the medical quality it offers its patients. In addition the Minister of Public Administration, Ramón Ventura Camejo, was recognized for the support to the administration of the Dominican state over the last few years.

Also recognized in the event were companies from Spain, Mexico Brazil, Peru, Uruguay as well as the Dominican Republic.

In addition to President Medina, others attending were the Vice President Margarita Cedeño, Presidency Minister Gustavo Montalvo, and Public Health Minister Altagracia Guzmán, among others.
