The Dominican Travel Writers Association (Adompretur) celebrated its annual gran gala and Premio de Periodismo Turístico Epifanio Lantigua, this time at the Barcelo Santo Domingo on the evening of Thursday, 30 November 2017. This year, the grand award for travel writing went to Panky Corcino, of the El Dinero business news weekly for a feature on the Duarte Peak. El Nacional newspaper won the annual award for the media making the most contributions for the development of tourism in 2016.

Gastronomy: Elena Crespo, RT Magazine
Special mentions were awarded to Manuel Antonio Vega, of Diario Libre; Emilia Pereyra of Diario Libre and Salvador Batista of Recorriendo con Salvador.
