Taiwan contributes to installation of 911 in the northern region

The government of Taiwan has delivered the second part of a donation to expand the 911 Emergency Service in the northern part of the country. The donation will be used to install surveillance equipment in urban areas for monitoring and assisting in fighting crime, enhancing safety for business and residents in cities.

Taiwan Ambassador Valentino Tang delivered the funds for the 911 program in the presence of Vice Minister of the Presidency Zoraima Cuello, Vice Minister for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development Inocencio Garcia, and the director of the 911 Emergency System, Dalvert Polanco.

The funds are allowing the installation of surveillance devices in the municipalities of Santiago, Puerto Plata, Sosúa, Cabarete, Luperón, Imbert and Villa Bisonó in Santiago and Puerto Plata provinces.

Ambassador Tang said that the Taiwan Government commits to continue to support the 911 Emergency System in 2018-2020.
