Tourism Minister Francisco Javier García announced last week the construction of the highway that will connect Santo Domingo with the southwest. Tourists headed to beaches in the Baní city area will no longer have to pass through the city’s congested streets.
García said by connecting through the Santo Domingo bypass that is under construction, tourists arriving to Las Americas International Airport will be able to easily reach the southwest. García said the development of Puntarena comes at a time when the Medina government is stepping up support for tourism developments in the southwest.
