StudioTheater presents “Godspell” (in Spanish) at the Acropolis Center. The Dominican version of the long running Broadway show will be performed at the Acropolis theater starting 4 May 2018. This is a production by José Rafael Reyes and Joyce Roy, starring Javier Grullón. The show is a revival of a first presentation that was made of the show six years ago with much success.
Godspell is a musical, composed by Stephen Schwartz that opened off Broadway in New York City on May 17, 1971, and has played in various touring companies and revivals many times since. The musical is based on the Gospel of Matthew with parables interspersed with a variety of modern music set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns.
